Who We Are
As a comprehensive center, The Sleep Disorders Center of Gwinnett Pulmonary Group deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders. The most common disorders are Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome, Narcolepsy, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, Restless Legs Syndrome, and Insomnia.
An overnight sleep study, known as a polysomnogram, is necessary to diagnose many sleep disorders. During this procedure a variety of physiological parameters are recorded (breathing patterns, air flow, oxygen levels, eye movements, brain waves, heart rate and rhythm, leg movements, snoring) from electrodes attached to different parts of the body. This data is analyzed and reviewed by sleep specialists, who then make appropriate recommendations to manage the condition. Follow up visits are scheduled as required.
