Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Updates

At Gwinnett Pulmonary Group, the health and safety of our community is priority No. 1—patients and their families, physicians and supporting staff. As our lives continue to evolve during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are practicing health standards recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

To protect our patients, many of whom are seeking treatment for lung conditions, we are mitigating the risk of exposure by adhering to the following policies for in-person appointments:

SCREENING
All patients and guests are screened for symptoms, including a temperature check, each time they enter our facilities. Physicians and staff also undergo regular temperature checks and symptom screenings.

SOCIAL DISTANCING
We are spacing out appointments and have re-organized waiting rooms to maintain safe distances for visitors.

GUESTS
Due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, patients are no longer allowed to bring guests to appointments. Gwinnett Pulmonary waiting rooms are open for existing patients only.
Exception: If existing patients need mobility assistance and/or communication assistance.

MASKING
Physicians, staff, patients, and visitors are required to wear masks.

DISINFECTING
We are increasing the frequency of sterilizing high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, counters, and chairs. We also clean equipment and exam rooms between each patient. We wash our hands regularly and place hand sanitizer outside every exam room, which we use between each patient.

IF YOU ARE SICK
If your fever is higher than 99.6, we ask that you follow CDC guidelines and self-quarantine for 14 days. Please call us to schedule a telehealth appointment and we will facilitate ordering COVID-19 testing.

TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS
When applicable, we recommend telehealth appointments for returning patients. All you need is a video-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone.

This virtual appointment takes place from the safety of your home. It is available for routine appointments and sick appointments.

Telehealth appointments are covered under most medical plans, and offer many of the same treatments as in-person visits.

We will continue to work with Northside Hospital and the Georgia Department of Public Health to maintain these standards. Thank you for trusting us with your Pulmonary and Sleep issues.
